President Muhammadu Buhari Set For US Trip Tomorrow

Details of President Muhammadu Buhari's ongoing visit to the US have been unveiled by Sahara Reporters. As for now, seems that the Nigerian delegation is accurately following the scheduled plan. July 19 The Nigerian leader arrived in the US around 4pm yesterday and headed to the Blair House, a guest residence of the American president.


After checking-in Buhari met with members of his entourage, including five Nigerian governors and other official figures. He dined with the former US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, and them met Lawal Idris, Professor John Baden, Patrick Berry and Ahmad Abubakar before. July 20 Today Muhammadu Buhari met with Barack Obama in the Oval Office of the White House.

Following which the Nigerian leader was set to have a high-level meeting with Joe Biden, the US vice president, with the national security advisor Susan Rice and Secretary of State John Kerry also in attendance. President Buhari is to have an encounter with the US secretary of commerce, Penny Pritzker. One of the most anticipated meetings by Nigerians is to be held with the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The officials are to discuss the issue of corruption, in particular - assets looted by the immediate past politicians. Further on, Buhari and CBN governor and the director of the Nigerian Stock exchange will meet the US secretary of treasury, Jack Lew.

The busy day is to end with a dinner with the US officials where the country representatives are expected to discuss steps of improving business relationships and security cooperation. July 21 Tomorrow Buhari will start the day by meeting with the World Health Organization delegation. Later on he will meet with John Kerry and attend a luncheon at the state department.

A crucial meeting with the director of the Central Intelligence Agency will be followed by the president's meeting with the US secretary for defense. The politician will further reunite with his classmates from the US War College. Then Buhari will meet with the US Senate and House of Representatives committee on Foreign Affairs at the US Capitol.
