Imo state police arrest two persons in connection with kidnap and murder of Fr. Cyriacus Onunkwo

The Imo state police command has arrested two persons in connection with the kidnap and murder of a Catholic priest in the state, Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo.



Fr. Cyriacus Onunkwo from Osina in Ideato North LGA of the state was kidnapped by gunmen on Friday, September 1st, from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area in the state. His body was later discovered in a bush in Omuma Village, Oru East Local Government Area on Saturday, September 2nd.

The deceased was reportedly on his way back home from abroad to bury his late dad before the abominable incident.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha, who spoke with newsmen in the state government house yesterday, said the suspects are making reasonable confessions.

“The suspects are already making reasonable confession that can help police in further investigations,” he said
