There are reports that a lion escaped from the Nekede Zoo in Owerri, the
Imo State capital last night. The State's local radio station Orient FM
made the broadcast. It is said the police command and the management of
the zoo are doing their best to track down the lion as the public is
also advised to be on the lookout and be safety conscious. A resident
says she took her child to school only to be told no school cos of the
lion's cage break.
