How Adamawa Gov,guards & aides fled when they heard Boko Haram was advancing

It is said...it's better to be safe than sorry..According to a report by Punch.....

Adamawa State Governor, Admiral  Murtala Nyako (retd), and state officials in his convoy on Friday fled Shuwa in Madagali Local Government Area of the state upon learning of the advancement of Boko Haram members in the area.Nyako, who was on condolence visits to victims of Boko Haram attacks in Shuwa, Gulak and Michika, was at his first town of call  when he was alerted to the advancement of  insurgents in the area again.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media said...

“The governor was addressing  the victims at Shuwa when a military truck appeared from the blues and the soldiers started shouting ‘they (insurgents) are coming.’”
He explained that  the soldiers had blocked  the road with a truck and were shooting sporadically into the air and instructed  the security details of the governor, who had approached them, to turn back  because of the advancement of the insurgents.
He said that following the sudden U-turn, some of the vehicles on the governor’s entourage ran into each other, denting some vehicles in the process
He, however, revealed that there was no casualty recorded as there were minor dents on the cars involved, which “were even driven back to Yola.”

Another eyewitness,  who was part of the convoy, narrated the governor’s  ordeal to Saturday PUNCH.

“We went to Shuwa with the governor to commiserate with the victims with the intention of going to Michika to do same.
“However, the situation took another turn when, just before we left the venue of the first attack in Shuwa, we heard a staccato of gunfire.
“We had to scamper into our cars and the brave security details took the governor to their car leaving the staff car empty.
“We left the place in confusion and proceeded to Yola without stopping at Michika.”

Recounting his ordeal to journalists in Yola on Friday afternoon, the News Agency of Nigeria quoted Nyako to have said  that he was in the community to commiserate with the people over gunmen’s attack in the area on Wednesday.
He said,

“After addressing the villagers, some soldiers approached me as I was about to enter my car and said that Boko Haram members were coming.
“The soldiers were shouting: ‘they are here, they are here.’ So, I asked them: ‘who?’ They said Boko Haram members are around.
“After that, one of the soldiers started shooting. So, the first thing we need to do, naturally, is to get out of the scene.’’

Kidnappers demand N500m ransom to free Pres. Jonathan's uncle

Abductors of Inengite Nitabai, the 70-year old uncle of President Goodluck Jonathan, have demanded a N500m ransom, Sahara Reporters report.

A security source said that the abductors threatened to kill him if the family fails to produce the money. The source also said the family had constituted a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his release.

He said the kidnappers had also warned against the involvement of security operatives in the matter.
"The kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whopping sum of N500m. It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums," he said.

Tension and panic set in when the kidnappers failed to establish any contact with the family of their victim three days after he was abducted.

That development was said to have rattled the Presidency, which reportedly ordered a massive deployment of security in Otuoke, the hometown of the Jonathans, and the Niger Delta creeks.
The gunmen abducted Nitabai on Sunday after collecting about N400,000 from his wife.

"I charge N1m to write a song now"-Harrysong

Harrysong who is signed to Kcee's Fivestar music and wrote Kcee's limpopo told Punch that these days he charges as much as 1 million naira to write a song..He also said he made over 50M from MTN callerback tunes for his "Mandela song"That's good oh!

“Before now we charged between N100, 000 and N2000, 000 for a song. Today I charge as much as 1million to write a song. Truth is, Nigerian artistes have begun to appreciate songwriters. They pay me my money and appreciate me. I have written a lot of songs but I don’t talk about them because Nigerian artistes don’t like it when the songwriters take credit for composing songs for them.”

The proceeds from the caller-back tune is actually worth more than N50m. Truth is, I was paid a lot of money;  you know -  when they say money that can change someone’s life. That’s the value of what I received .I can’t reveal the exact amount because we work as a team. So, all the money realised is shared among us. You just want to forget all the years of suffering. It’s not a mere hype because the money is there. The song is everywhere. You go to South-Africa , the girls are crazy about it."

I've been cleansed of stealing..God has shamed my critics"-Actress Yetunde Akilapa

Nollywood actress, Yetunde Akilapa, who was beaten after she was caught in an unknown house with a bunch of keys says she is cleansed and  that her ‘kleptomaniac’ habit was not natural.According to The Nation, she said

“I am not quitting again.  God has finally shamed my critics and enemies.  It’s true I have not been around for two weeks.  I was going through marathon fast and prayers.
First, I had to go to my hometown on my mother’s invitation.  That was where I stayed for about two weeks for spiritual cleansing, and I thank God I have triumphed over my enemies.  The devil has lost the battle.  I am a conqueror forever,I am a member of Redeemed Christian Church of God in Ikorodu, where I reside.  But I only attend Christ Embassy Church, Agidingbi, Lagos, once in a while.  My friend also introduced me to a Christ Apostolic Church in Ketu, Lagos, where I also attend deliverance services.  I don’t discriminate , as long as it’s all for my benefit. Now, I am happy that the battle is over.  As I speak to you, I am on a movie location with some of my colleagues.  They are all happy that I am back.  I pray that any weapon fashioned against me again shall never prosper,”

Man exchanges his 15yr Old Son for two bags of rice

A yet to be identified man on Monday successfully traded a 15-year old boy, Seun Aderinwale, for two bags of rice valued at N20,000 at Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.

According to eyewitness account, the man, whose address is unknown, went to 4, Ifesowapo Street, Igando, on Monday morning to buy two bags of rice from a shop owned by a woman identified as Iya Ibrahim.

The rice seller was not available at the time but her son, Ibrahim, agreed to the man’s proposal to drop Seun, an Aluminium apprentice, as collateral, in order to collect the two bags  of rice and return later to pay.

However, when the shop owner returned in the afternoon, she was surprised to see Seun who was dropped there in exchange for the two bags of rice taken away by the unidentified man.

When the man failed to return, the 15-year old was held hostage until evening when the pastor of his church, a Celestial Church of Christ around the area, saw him at the shop looking despondent.

When Seun was questioned on how he came about the fraudster, he said he met him casually at Hotel Bus Stop about 300 metres to his residence where a church member had sent him on an errand to play lotto, popularly known as “Baba Ijebu”.

Seun said he did not know the man’s house or have other information about him.

The teenager later regained his freedom when the Celestial Church pastor, known simply as Oluso in the neighborhood, settled the matter with Iya Ibrahim, the rice seller.

He said the woman should take responsibility for one of the stolen bags of rice while Seun’s father, a co-worker with him in the church, should pay for the other bag of rice when he returned from his trip to Ifo in Ogun State. Seun’s  father agreed to pay N10,000 for the bag of rice when he returned from Ifo.

P.M.NEWS learnt that the rice seller agreed to the pastor’s proposal and did not report the matter to the police.

“If I report the incident to the police, I cannot leave the station without spending money. Therefore, it is better for me to accept the proposal by Oluso, the rice seller told residents who gathered in front of her shop to watch the drama.

When Ibrahim was questioned why he allowed such an unusual arrangement, he told residents that the conman asked for two and half bags of rice, adding, “when the motorcycle was about to go with the two bags, I asked for the money but Seun assured me he was coming back for the half bag. He even claimed to be a close relation of the man.”

However, some hours after the man had disappeared and failed to return, Ibrahim said Seun retracted his earlier statement, saying he did not know the man.

Yobe Massacre: How my mates were killed by Boko haram – 14yr old Survivor

I was shot on my left leg, while I was sleeping.  When I woke up, I could not walk and was later taken to the girls hostel where the insurgents gathered us with the female students. They selected some of the female students and went away with them, while they left some of us groaning in pain from gun shot”.

Sad..only God knows where those innocent girls are or what they are being subjected too..*sigh

'So Called Man of God, (COZA Pastor Biodun) Rejected Me cos of a Scandal' - Singer Kefee

Gospel singer Kefee, in a chat with Encomium Magazine while trying to defend her Kokoroko song with secular singer Tamara, told this interesting story of her experience with now happily married Ese Walter's COZA pastor, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.  Please read:

You started out as a traditional gospel singer, along the line your deviated. Would we say you re-branded?

If you have my album or albums, you would know that I am doing same kind of music, but different genres. For instance, the kind of songs in Branama 1 is the same with other songs, but with improved production and vocals.

Some people were not happy because you featured Timaya in Kokoroko and he’s a secular singer. How would you react to that?

Before I react to that question, let me tell you this short true story. In 2008, I was invited to perform at a church (name withheld) in Abuja for the second time. The publicity for the show was massive, they had distributed invitation card to guests, people were even calling to confirm if I was going to perform. In fact, I got copies of the flyers weeks before the show.

I was getting ready to go to the airport when I got a call from the pastor’s P.A, asking if I had seen a certain newspaper’s story about me. I said yes, it was a scandal. And he said they don’t want to have anything to do with me because of that scandal. Besides, he added that they have top government officials who worship in their church, and all sort. I said ok, but the so-called senior pastor, who called me initially to plead with me to accept a certain amount because it was a new church couldn’t call me anymore, he had to send his P.A to tell me that. He didn’t care what happened to me, if it was true what said about me by an angry, bitter man. I felt really low not because I didn’t do the show but because they cared less what happened to me, because that would have been the end of my career.

Now, I called Timaya. We met at a studio somewhere in Festac town, and Timaya asked me about the same scandal. And he told me what I expected a man of God would’ve told me. I remember, he said to me:

“Don’t worry, if your hands are clean, you will see God turn things around for you. God will help you, my sister.”

I say this in all sobriety, after which we recorded Kokoroko. When Kokoroko came out and Timi (Dakolo) listened to it, he said “Kefee, you dey make me like God in a different way.”

Now, you tell me, who acted like a good human? Who would have ever thought that the so-called man of God, who now has his share of scandal and is still planning a robust reply would act that weird? So, when I heard people talking about me featuring Timaya, it sounded funny. God can use anything, anybody. Music is an art that transcends all. Timaya was good for that song and he delivered, that’s what matters to me. I don’t judge people. If he was a doctor, you won’t say he shouldn’t treat you because he isn’t a Christian. It won’t matter then. All you would want is have him do his job and that was what he did. He did a good job on that song you can’t deny that. And to me, that’s what counts.

Many people have criticized you because of your way of dressing, saying that it is not Christ-like. How would you react to that?

Really? I dress the way I like, I like my African print and again, everyone can’t like every style or design. So, that’s acceptable.

I Think My Husband Has A Side Chick! What Can I Do?

Dear readers am confused and losing it. I have been married for 3yrs now to the best man. Before marriage, sex with him was great...then I looked forward to every moment with him. Few years down the lane my husband seems to have lost interest so bad that we can stay two months without sex. Recently I noticed he couldn't even get an erection with me. I suspect there is a side chick and I really don’t know what to do.

Nigerians In Spain Condemn Spanish Police Shooting Of African Immigrants On The High Sea

It was a day that has generated global uproar when on Thursday the 6th of February 2014, the Spanish local border police opened fire on some 200 sub-Sahara African immigrants who were calling for rescue as they were attempting to cross the high sea from Morocco into the Spanish border town of Ceuta. So far, reports show that not less than 14 bodies have been recovered from the water and each of them with bullet wounds.

Describing the action as grave ‘inhumanity’, the Northern Observatory for Human Rights condemned the shooting as an action that ‘‘violates the international conventions on human rights".

Photo of dead bodies after the cut. Viewer’s discretion is strictly advised.

Photo Above:  Some of the recovered dead bodies of the African immigrants shot by Spanish Police at the sea while swimming to cross to the border between Morocco and Spain.

On the part of the Nigerian Community in Madrid and Spain, the action has been condemned in the clearest of terms. In a press release after an emergency meeting of the Leaders of the Nigerian Communities in Madrid at the instance of the Nigerian Nationals Association, the President of the Association Comrade Lamptay Oriakhi described the action as a ‘premeditated act of wickedness’. He added his voice to the Socialist Party’s call for the resignation of all those directly and indirectly responsible for such inhuman act. He informed that while effort is being made by the Association to determine the number of Nigerians involved, the Association has begun a process of calling the African immigrant community together for a nationwide wide protest. Meanwhile, the secretary of the Association Honorable Precious Onuoha affirmed that a letter has officially been written to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on the Nigerian Community’s disapproval and call for international justice.

While expressing dismay at the actions of the Spanish police, a cross section of the leaders of the Nigerian communities under the aegis of the Nigerian Communities Leadership Interactive Forum Madrid expressed concern over the high state of corruption in Nigeria as a major factor denying Nigerians employment thereby forcing many into such deadly risk.

The President Comrade Lamptay Oriakhi and the Secretary Honourable Prescious Onuoha used the medium to call on all Nigerian and African communities, high commissions and governments to respond to this act of inhumanity and support its condemnation.

Why I left Presh-Kcee reveals

After their surprise breakup,Kcee has become a superstar in his own right. However many wondered why they broke up..Was told that Kcee suggested they fake a breakup to gain media attention..So Presh agreed .Unknown to him Kcee was really serious about breaking up.So while Presh was waiting for him to come back, Kcee released songs and became a superstar leaving Presh in the cold....
Well Kcee told Yes magazine his own reason below

"We thought we’ve been doing it for 12 years and we needed a change because the only thing that is constant is change. Just like the Yoruba adage that says that 20 children cannot play for 20 years. Although we never saw this coming, we always thought we would be together forever, but at the end of the day, we are doing it and we are loving it.Initially, I thought going solo was going to be stressful. I thought about how people were going to accept me as a solo artist knowing full well that I had been with Presh for about 12 years. Both of us were scared, but I thought that so far we can make people believe that we are good together as a group; we can also make them believe we can do it without each other and that was the belief. Even if you are twins, your focus can not be the same, your spirit and your drive might not be on the same platform at all times."

Peter Okoye wants us to give a guess on what next they are up to

Hmmmn..Not a song, not a music video, not an endorsement…The confidence of his tweet eh!What do you think it is.

Here is a statement the Nigeria Police Force just released. Good news, guys.

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and will soon charge to court twelve (12) suspects connected with the torture of three women at Oba Morufu International Market, Ejigbo, Lagos.

Two of the victims who were young girls were arrested along with their mother, tortured and dehumanized by persons who claimed to be members of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) providing security at the market, and some market association officials who subsequently
extorted the sum of fifty thousand naira from the father of the victims in return for their freedom.

One of the victims, Juliana Agoma, a national of Republic of Benin, was moved back to Cotonou by her father where she subsequently died allegedly from injuries sustained in the torture.

Consequently, a team of crack detectives led by DCP Chris Ezike swung into action and conducted discreet investigations in line with standard best practices, during which the suspects in connection with the matter were arrested.

Otepa Oluronti, Akeem and Machael Abolore whose whereabouts are yet unknown but who have been implicated in having played active roles in the heinous crimes against the victims.

Meanwhile, the IGP has commended the Human Rights, Civil Society, and Women Support Groups as well as the Office of the Public Defender, Lagos State Ministry of Justice and all other stakeholders whose important contributions have tremendously assisted the Police in this and other matters relating to human dignity, safety and security.

He however calls on the general public to assist the Police with information that will lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects.
